In the late 19th century, as printing presses emerged in Lucknow, Delhi, and Deoband, scholars realized the need for a vernacular version. Maulana Shah Muhammad Abdul Ghani Phulpuri (a Sufi master from Punjab) translated the entire work into simple, flowing Urdu. His translation became the standard for the Ahl-e-Sunnat (Barelvi) tradition.
