Varun is a thinly written hero. He is handsome, brooding, and has daddy issues—but we never truly understand him . Jiiva tries hard, but the character lacks the depth of a Jessie or a Karthik from Menon’s earlier works. Varun comes off as emotionally stunted, not romantic.
