It serves as the seventh installment in the "Saw" franchise. The film was directed by Kevin Greutert and written by Scott Belosky and Adam Robitel. The story follows Jeff Denlon's (Angus Macfadyen) attempts to find Eric Matthews (Donnie Wahlberg), who is kidnapped by Jigsaw (Tobin Bell) and placed in one of his deadly traps.
