The story follows (Karthi), a short-tempered but kind-hearted man in a small village who is deeply protective of his community. He falls in love with and marries Palani (Lakshmi Menon), but the central emotional core of the film is actually his relationship with his father-in-law, Muthaiah (Rajkiran).
