Correct wiring is critical to avoid damaging the SCR or the LM324 logic chips. The board typically features clearly labeled terminal blocks:
Look for swollen electrolytic capacitors or dark burn marks around the power resistors and rectifiers.
Connect the speed control knob (typically 4.7k to 5k ohms). The middle pin usually connects to P2.
