Modern updates (including the recent v1.2 patch) have made questing more intuitive:

You will see a folder named UI and a file named quests.txt . Do not drop the mod folder into the main directory. Instead, navigate to your Grim Dawn installation folder (Steam: steamapps/common/Grim Dawn/ ).
