Before replacing anything, many users attempt to spray electronic contact cleaner (like DeoxIT) into the potentiometer’s housing. By opening the pod and injecting cleaner into the small slots on the volume wheel, oxidation can be temporarily dissolved. This often works for a few weeks or months, but it is a palliative, not a cure. The physical wear remains, and the problem will return.
