Director Jing Wong took the premise and injected it with the signature slapstick comedy and high-octane stunt work that defined Jackie Chan’s career in that era. The plot is intentionally paper-thin: Ryo and his partner, Kaori (Joey Wong), find themselves on a luxury cruise liner that gets hijacked by terrorists. What follows is less of a detective story and more of a chaotic survival thriller.
